Love Music Hate Racism presents KIOKO at The Hope & Ruin.
KIOKO are a group of like-minded, multicultural musicians who have embarked on a journey to bring people their own brand of pop.
A band of big personalities and even bigger song hooks, KIOKO pride themselves on writing accessible, head bopping tunes, but also take pride in the fact that their music is sociologically and politically relevant to today's ever changing society.
Having performed with a diverse array of acts, including Tinie Tempah, The Wailers, The Specials and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. KIOKO have a wealth of performance experience and are set to win over audiences old and new with upcoming nationwide shows and E.P 'Let's Be Frank'.
Dakka Skanks formed in mid-2016 with one goal in mind - rejuvinate British ska. They are a 5-piece ska/dub/reggae band based out of Brighton. The home of the mod. Combining catchy choruses, up-tempo riffs and dubby breakdowns, they create a new hybrid blend to set their own stamp on a classic sound.
Having already played many of the Brighton hotspots including Concorde 2, The Prince Albert and Volks and now set their sights on Europe. They have performed at The Great Skinhead Reunion and Paddle Round The Pier, two of Brighton’s top festivals and now look to the mainland to see where the adventure takes them. Make sure you catch them at a show near you, you wont regret it!
