Two of Brighton’s most singular bands are joining forces for this incredible double headliner launch party. Town Of Cats will be bringing down the house once more in celebration of their new single, with an exclusive screening of their new video on the sweaty walls of the Hope & Ruin. Simultaneously Dog of Man are releasing their brand spanking visual debut album featuring the track listing as chosen by the audience over the next month. Support comes from local gypsy punk mentalists Buffo's Wake and folk-punk raconteur Mhairi Lockett.
Town Of Cats are an ever-mutating municipality of musical misfits, grown in Brighton’s grubby and fertile petri dish. To hear them is to be transported by the transformative power of the best parties. The ones that set fire to your zero-hour contract and remind you that real change can come from the most ordinary of places.
Dog of Man have brought their turbulent live show to London raves, squatted Amsterdam dockyards and beach parties in Croatia. This year the band hosted an exhibition of their own art work and headlined a European tour. Now it's album time! Expect heavy psych punk with odd moments of breakbeat and accordion.
Buffo's Wake are gypsy punk lunatics with a taste for the macabre. Festival veterans, regularly appearing at some of the UK's biggest festivals, including Glastonbury, Bestival, Secret Garden Party and Boomtown, Buffo's Wake will grab you, and leave you dancing like a man possessed. Guaranteed to raise hell!
Mhairi Lockett is a folk-punk singer-songwriter and artist living in Brighton. With her “chilled out, deep acoustic melodies and soothing vocals” [Plant Room], her lyrics weave through stories of hope, fear and fight.
Early bird tickets will be £6 / Second tier £8
