87 Press
the 87press is a South-Asian, Neurodiverse, and Non-Binary-led independent publisher based in South London which hosts The Hythe, an interdisciplinary e-journal for poetry and poetics, creative writing workshops in community-based and higher education institutions, and regularly curates events bringing together sonic and lyric subcultures.
Join us for an evening of readings and performances from the87press’ list including Lola Olufemi and Karenjit Sandhu.
Lola is a Black feminist writer and Stuart Hall foundation researcher from London. She is the author of Feminism Interrupted: Disrupting Power and Experiments in Imagining Otherwise.
Karenjit Sandhu is a poet and artist whose collections include Poetic Fragments from the Irritating Archive and young girls! with the87Press. Sandhu’s performance work has led to collaborations with the ICA and Camden People’s Theatre in London and Galerie Eric Dupont in Paris.
They will be joined by Samuel Solomon who lives in Brighton, where he teaches at the University of Sussex. He is the author of Lyric Pedagogy and Marxist-Feminism: Social Reproduction and the Institutions of Poetry and the co-translator from the Yiddish of The Acrobat: Selected Poems of Celia Dropkin.

We will often try to notify our audiences of special effects or props via advance
publicity or pre show email however we are not always aware of these in time to
do so. Please refer to the signage on the entrances to the auditorium/event site if
you would like to check up on the use of effects such as strobe or haze
machines. If you have any specific access related questions please feel free to
make contact with our Ticket Office or access lines.
Loud noise
Loud noise can cause hearing damage. Complimentary hearing protection is
available at events where the sound levels may exceed 85db, please just ask
one of the Festival staff. Notices will be posted at the auditorium doors /entrance
to the event site at louder events.
