Adopting a DIY approach to date, Ghais Guevara has achieved a lot in a short period of time. The Philadelphia based rapper and political activist has built a dedicated fanbase with supporters that include The Needle Drop and a febrile and committed subreddit community. Dubbed by Vice Magazine as “the only rapper doing geopolitical communist rap”, media have discovered Ghais Guevara of their own accord – with publications such as Complex, Pigeons & Planes and Paper all tapping into the early hype.
Born and raised in North Philly in the midst of guns and gang avoidance tactics and nurtured around generational radical Black leftist thought, Leprosy is the first taste of a bold new chapter for Ghais Guevara.
