Love Thy Neighbour present:

NO FRIENDS IN THE INDUSTRY
Love Thy Neighbour’s unofficial parties at The Great Escape return!

No Friends in the Industry is a free entry (with or without TGE wristband) floor show in the bar area of The Hope & Ruin. The stage runs across all three days of the festival from Thursday 11th May to Saturday 13th May.

2.30pm – Trout

Hailing from various corners of the continent, Trout grabs your attention with their carefully crafted song structures and intricately layered production techniques. Mixing jagged ear-worms with luscious vocal harmonies, all to the rhythm of laptop beats and basslines.

3.30pm – A Fungus

Amsterdam based band a fungus make teen-rock with broken time signatures and sudden bursts of hysteric guitar distortion. Their combination of tender melodics and raw grunge creates a confusing yet immersive landscape of sound. They’ve released their debut album ‘It Already Does That’ through Dutch label Subroutine Records last year.

4.30pm – Personal Trainer

The Amsterdam-based collective seek out sharp-witted ways to prolong the innate joy of being a band just plugging in and playing. Willem Smit, the group’s conductor and cheerleader, started the band as an ultimate love letter to the vibrant scene he himself inhabits. The ten tracks of their rapturously received debut album “Big Love Blanket”, released late in 2022, arrived fully-formed, displaying a playful, almost hyperactive diversity of sounds and influences, landing on one all of their own.

5pm – 6.30pm – Break for Beelzebab

6.30pm – Hollow Hand
Fantastic psychedelic folk whose latest album ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ features Spencer Cullum along Tim Smith (Midlake, Harp) & Holly Macve.

7.30pm – Cyst

Mysterious duo/trio whose mix of electronic, shoegaze and trip hop music has seen them support DITZ and Kai Whiston since their formation in 2023.

8.30pm – CIEL
Indie-rock trio CIEL formed in Brighton, with members hailing from The Netherlands, Spain, and the UK. Drawing inspiration from the unique creative landscapes of their respective home countries, CIEL’s music possesses a fresh, dark, and hauntingly beautiful quality. Combining elements of fuzzy indie rock, goth, and shoegaze, the band’s broody and gritty sound is elevated by the soft, icy, but emotive melodies of singer Michelle Hindriks.

9.30pm – Tummyache

Tummyache is An Alternative Rock Project created by songwriter/producer Soren Bryce. The project tummyache was birthed from an existential pity-party circa 2018, where Bryce was exploring new depths of what it meant to be a human, a woman, and alive in general.
