Love Thy Neighbour Presents:
NO FRIENDS IN THE INDUSTRY
Our unofficial parties return! No Friends in the Industry is a free entry (with or without TGE wristband) floor show in the bar area of The Hope & Ruin. The stage runs across all three days of the festival from Thursday 15th May to Saturday 17th May.
2.30pm – Real Farmer
3.30pm – Boko Yout
4.30pm – Die Twice
Formed in Exeter several years ago, and barely out of their teens, the band have already
built themselves up a dedicated fan base through their ambitious sound which sets them
apart from most of the UK guitar scene at the moment. Channelling everything from Jeff
Buckley to Zeppelin to Math Rock, the band’s soaring alt-rock sound melds poetic lyrics with
duelling guitars and a punk rock spirit that runs through every track
5.30pm – Search Results
Building on the energetic swirl of 2023’s Information Blip and their well-received EPs, Search Results’ follow-up Go Mutant takes its title seriously, bringing idiosyncrasies to the fore, and at under just 35 minutes, it manages to sound both frantic and precise. Over the course of 13 songs, they have created an immersive, bold piece of work, a fitting musical statement for a band with such interesting influences.
7.30pm – Acopia
8.30pm – Pleasureinc
9.30pm – Meagre Martin
Berlin-based songwriter-turned-trio Meagre Martin was founded by African-American musician and songwriter Sarah Martin (guitar, she/her) and was soon joined by Federico “Freddy” Corazzini (drums, he/him) and Max Hirtz-Wolf (bass, he/him). While all three band members hail from the USA, they have been living in Berlin for several years and officially
formed the band in 2021. Their sound seamlessly blends gentle indie rock and Americana, drawing comparisons to artists such as Big Thief, Sharon Van Etten, and Cate Le Bon. The band refers to their unique style as “Faux-Country.
