NO FRIENDS IN THE INDUSTRY
Love Thy Neighbour’s unofficial parties at The Great Escape return!

No Friends in the Industry is a free entry (with or without TGE wristband) floor show in the bar area of The Hope & Ruin. The stage runs across all three days of the festival from Thursday 11th May to Saturday 13th May.

2.30pm – TBA

3.30pm – My First Time

4.30pm – Al Costelloe

Costelloe signed to Mute records at just 17 as half of shoegaze two-piece ‘Big Deal’. Following the split Costelloe became despondent about continuing to make music. However, finding herself touring across Europe as a bass player for ‘Superfood’ and VANT’, Costelloe’s spark for music was rekindled. With the encouragement of these friends she began to want to create her own songs again, tentatively recording home demos which form the basis for her upcoming singles. Motivated by a desire to finally make something that she would have complete creative control over, Costelloe’s new project marks a new era for the artist.

5pm – 6.30pm Break for Beelzebab

6.30pm – Hanya

The Brighton group have since proven to the world that a dreampop trio don’t need to hold back, with no aversion to distortion-fuelled break-downs, their energetic live show and ability to craft intricate, catchy hooks has attracted fans worldwide.

7.30pm – Frozemode

Frozemode is I.V.Gatlin, Cho-Hollo and Lisong. They are London based alternative-rap trio who pride themselves on their hard hitting bars, playful inventive melodies and musical versatility.

8.30pm – Kyoto Kyoto
With an impressive ability to European folk, noise rock, classical music and psychedelic ambience into five-minute segments all set against a wall of post-rock intensity. Kyoto Kyoto are crystallising their reputation as one of the most significant acts to emerge from the underground circuit.

9.30pm – Humour
Humour live together in Glasgow and formed across the 2021 lockdowns, writing and recording their material at home, with the music intended as a backdrop to Andreas’ lyrics. Sometimes they’re about letting people down, sometimes they’re about pets dying, and sometimes they’re about trying to say something when you don’t have anything worth saying.
