STAY SICK is back! From the grave! Thanks to all who came to party with us at June’s Stay Sick. This time we have yet another Stay Sick debut for our headliner and the long awaited return of our second band, and I’m sure some of you will recognise the odd face in the line ups

So, please give a mighty welcome to and give it up for…
★★★ MEZCAL MOON ★★★

The south coast Go! sound

Mezcal Moon present you yesterday’s sounds today with all the accoutrements you want, more bass, more reverb, more alcohol. A four piece instrumental combo playing downbeat Surf and scuzzy shakers, twangy movers and Spy-fi beats. It’s good music for bad people, a surfy supergroup ready to party!
And in support, a one time Brighton based duo before migrating north, starting up the awesome Derbyshire LANDLOCKED festival, and now returned! It’s been a good few years now and we’re stoked to have them back, yes it’s…
★★★ THE MANDLEBROT SHAKES ★★★

The Mandelbrot Shakes are a British garage punk and trash blues duo known for their high-energy, raw, and distorted rock ‘n’ roll sound.

The band consists of Letty Gallagher on vocals and drums alongside her husband, Julian Wells, on guitar. Named after the mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot and his work on fractals and the “uncontrolled element in life,” they deliver a primitive, adrenaline-soaked set!Hell yeah! We’ll have some of that!
See you down the front!

For those unfamiliar with STAY SICK parties here’s what to expect…
![]()
Come join us for this our monthly trash dance party night held on the downstairs in the bar at The Hope & Ruin, where we continue our monthly STAY SICK residency, revving up for a night of delinquent kicks, DJ’s, dancing and tripped out trashy mondo projections!
![]()
Expect an aural rock n roll trash journey that includes sleazy, greasy rock n roll from the 50s including Tarantino-esque surf, boppin rockabilly, swingin’ rhythm and blues and twistin’ shakers, moving on through to 60s primitive garage, snotty 70s punk n roll, 80s new wave and beyond to more modern garagepunk sounds, and anything else that fits in and floats our boat!

This night “goes out to all you Gucci bag carriers out there”, to all you delinquent weird-ohs so you can go-go, shake, bop, pogo, mash, shimmy, watusi and freak to! For Lux and The CrAmPs, our glorious leaders
